Same-Day Phone Repair in Ottawa: What Can Be Fixed While You Wait?

Your phone is your alarm clock, wallet, map, work inbox and two-factor login. Being without it for a week isn't realistic. The good news: most repairs take less time than a lunch break. Here's what we can usually fix while you wait at our Bronson Avenue shop, and what takes longer.

Repairs that usually take under an hour

• Cracked screens on most iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models: 30 to 60 minutes. See our iPhone and Samsung screen guides.
• Battery replacements: usually 30 to 60 minutes. Here's how to tell if you need one.
• Charging ports: often just a deep clean; a full port replacement usually takes under an hour. Try our fixes to try first.
• Cameras, speakers and microphones: usually under an hour.
• Prepaid SIM activations: minutes. Here's what to bring.

Repairs that take a little longer

• Face ID and in-screen fingerprint models: one to two hours, so every sensor works properly after the new screen goes in.
• Back glass: removing shattered glass takes care, especially on models where it's fused to the frame. Read our back glass guide.

• Foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip: foldable screens are often ordered in, so call first.

Repairs that need a diagnosis first

Some problems can't be priced until we look inside:

• Water damage. We open the phone, clean the board and check what the liquid affected. Here's what to do right after it gets wet.

How to get your phone back faster

1. Text us your model first at (613) 324-4994. If you're not sure of the model, Apple's model identification page helps.
2. Come earlier in the day. We're open Monday to Friday 10:30 AM to 7 PM and Saturday 11 AM to 5 PM.
3. Back up if the phone still works. It takes a few minutes; here's our backup checklist.
4. Tell us everything that's wrong so we can fix it all in one visit.

What about the manufacturers?

Apple offers in-person service at the Genius Bar and a mail-in option, and it's best to book ahead. Google runs walk-in repair centres in Canada for Pixel phones, and Samsung lists its service centres online. They're good options, especially under warranty.
